Instruction for authors

All participants are requested to follow the presentation guidelines to make the congress program flow smoothly. Please refer to the information below for questions on how to format your presentations at ECCB 2022, including technical specifications, and for information on abstract types and formats:

Posters

Posters are a key part of ECCB. Posters will be located in the building where exhibitors, one parallel session and coffee breaks will be located. A small bar will be also there. Posters will be available for the entire duration of the Congress. 

How to create your poster?

The proposed poster size is A0 format (portrait), the size of the poster stand is 196 cm high x 96 cm wide.

Please state the title and the authors at the top of your poster.

Poster session details

The poster session is scheduled on Wednesday 24th August 2022 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. 

Authors are kindly asked to be present at their posters during all the poster session for a possible discussion.


Set-up and take down time 

Set-up from: Monday, 22nd August 2022, 10:00 a.m.

Take down from: Friday, 26th August 2022, 4:00 p.m.

If possible, please install your poster during Monday or Tuesday morning. Posters should be available for other participants during all the congress time. Stands for posters will be marked with numbers which will be available also on the conference website. Please install your poster at the poster board marked with your poster number. Adhesive double-sided tape will be provided on-site. Organising staff will help you there if requested.

The student posters which have been entered into the student competition will be specially marked.

Posters which are not removed by Friday 4:00 p.m. will be disposed of.


Poster exhibition venue 

The poster session will be located in the Round hall

The Poster area will be open daily from Tuesday, August 23 to Friday, August, between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.


!!! Print your poster on site !!!

Do you have any problems with your travel luggage? You don’t want to care for your poster during your travel? Are you in a hurry and looking for a poster at the last minute? We offer you the possibility of printing your poster on-site (next to the CZU campus). 

You can load your poster file from your office in advance and after your arrival you can pick up the print-out. A special link for ECCB participants:

Oral and speed presentations


How to create your presentation?
  • Your presentation needs to be created in Microsoft PowerPoint file .PPTX or .PPT (alternatively in .PDF)
  • Presentations from Keynotes (Apple/Mac OS) are not supported and need to be saved as .pptx or .ppt.
  • Templates are not provided.
  • Please use the slide set-up for the on-screen show – 16:9 aspect ratio. 
  • Maximum file size is 20Mb.
  • Use standard Windows fonts only, avoid use of non-standard Windows fonts or language specific fonts.
  • Images: Do not copy and paste the images from another application, please use the “insert image from a file” functionality from PowerPoint (format JPG or PNG).
  • Video: MP4 or AVI are the only acceptable video formats. To avoid any issue with movies and loops with PowerPoint, presentations should be saved as a .pptx files.
  • Presentations will be displayed from a PC with Windows 10/11 and PowerPoint 365.
  • Apple: Please give your filename an extension “pptx”.
  • Check your presentation on a Windows-operated computer before you upload it.

Oral presentations will be limited to 15 minutes, including 10-(12) minutes presentation and 3 minutes for questions and changing speakers. The speed presentation session will include 15 speakers. To each speaker will be given 5 minutes to present the key ideas and results. After every three presentations there will be 9 minutes for discussion. 

Please upload your presentation files for symposia, oral contributions and speed presentations according to the instructions sent on Thursday, 11th August to your e-mail boxes. If you haven't received the email, please check your spam folder and then contact us at info@eccb2022.eu.

If absolutely necessary and in exceptional cases the last possibility to submit a presentation file is the day before your presentation until 02:00 p.m. at the loading centre next to the registration office (Library). File submission will not be accommodated on the day of the presentation! No last-minute presentation up-loads will be accepted. Thank you very much for understanding.
