Harriet Bradley will give a broad overview of the challenges and opportunities ahead for the CAP to support and conserve farmland biodiversity, and more broadly, agro-ecosystems' health. This will cover a summary of the evidence of the CAP’s impact to date, along with the best available evidence on the impacts of the incoming CAP on farmland species and habitats and agro-ecosystem health. The talk will draw on the analysis that IEEP has carried out on the 2023-2027 CAP Strategic Plans of EU Member States, along with previous work by Ms Bradley on the impacts of the CAP on biodiversity and the likely impacts of the new CAP reform whilst working at the nature conservation organisation BirdLife Europe.
